A mighty mic at an affordable price
I'm a podcaster, content creator, singer, and just starting to get into voice acting, and I've been desperately needing to upgrade my recording setup from the very old secondhand omni-directional mic I've been using. I can't afford to get a Blue Yeti or anything in a high price range, so I was very excited to get the chance to review this microphone.As soon as it got here, I plugged it into my tablet setup and did some test recordings in Audacity. I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the sound from this mic!Pop filter works AMAZINGLY to reduce plosives in my recording, which is going to save me HOURS of editing. The sound quality is crisp and rich, able to pick up my low range AND my high range with absolutely no issue (I've had the worst time trying to find a mic that works with my extreme range without dropping out or blasting static). My midrange is very clear as well with this mic. Even my singing gets picked up quite well, definitely well enough to finally get some decent recordings without having to hold back my volume or do tons of editing.The whole setup seems quite stable, the tripod is MUCH more stable than my last mini tripod I used for my old mic. Even though this mic is front-heavy, with proper positioning I had no issues with tipping over.I most DEFINITELY recommend this mic!
Good quality mic
My teenage son is an avid gamer. He plays in tournaments and he streams live and has thousands of followers. He knows his stuff when it comes to computer parts. So if he says this mic is good quality, then I believe him. It looks and feels sturdy, and it comes with a tripod to set it on, or you can remove it from that an attach it to a boom arm like he did, as you can see in the picture. The lights look great, and the screen gives it a professional touch. He normally uses a blue yeti, which is considered top of the line, but he switched to this one for the past two days and he said none of his friends or followers have noticed a difference. We both love the way the mic is suspended from the bracket with (slightly) stretchy bands. Gives it a very cool look. If you choose to remove from the tripod and attach to a boom you will likely need to buy a box of adapters, as the one on it is rather large and probably won’t fit your boom. But you can pick those up on Amazon for around ten bucks. This is definitely a great value. If you don’t want to lay down the cash for a yeti, this is the one I would go with! It definitely holds it weight as a contender in that class of condenser mics. 10/10 recommend.
